DAVID Beckham will be given a lifetime achievement award at tomorrow night’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year show.
The former England skipper will attend the star-studded bash in Birmingham where he is to receive the honour.
BBC chiefs said the prestigious award will recognise Beckham’s significant contribution to football over the past 18 years. Previous winners include Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Bobby Robson, George Best, Sir Alex Ferguson and Seve Ballesteros.
Beckham, who now plays for LA Galaxy, made his first-team debut as a 17-year-old for Manchester United in 1992.
During his time at Old Trafford he won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League.
